Rapid Fire with Montreal-based creator, Tory Morton
When she’s not finding the new hot spots in Montreal or interviewing the city's top chefs, you can typically find Tory sipping on an extra dirty martini and shooting content. But we want to know more beyond what you can find on @ToryMorton. So we sat down with her to uncover 10 things you didn’t know about her!
Favourite food in the entire world?
Pizza. Deep dish, thin crust, anything pizza, I do not discriminate.
What’s your go-to takeout order?
The laska from Sautee Brothers. It’s so good.
Dirty or extra dirty martini?
I love an extra dirty martini. If I don’t taste the vodka and just the olive juice, it’s for me. I could have seven martinis.
Best coffee in Montreal?
Cafe Olimpico. The people are so nice. The guys that work there are easy on the eyes. Lili and Oli in St.Henri.
Go-to for cheap eats in Montreal?
Patati Patata. I love the burgers, especially the smash burger with fries. Or even La Belle Provence poutine. I’ll say it, it’s the best poutine in Montreal.
Brunch or dinner girlie?
Definitely a brunch girlie because you can go to brunch and get anything you want. You can get dinner or brunch. Also, if you’re throwing in a mimosa, you’re in bed by 9:00 PM and feeling refreshed the next day.
What’s your bagel order?
Plain girl. Everything bagel with just cream cheese.
Sweet or savoury?
I’m a sweet gal. I would do anything for a Blizzard.
What do you bring to a family dinner?
The vibes! Nothing else because I am not the best cook. Or I will buy something and put it in Tupperware and serve it.
Best restaurant you’ve been to lately?
I stumbled upon Buvette du Quartier. There is a disco ball, the staff is nice, primarily French there but they translate everything. They were super nice and the food was 10/10
