Places To Eat: Montreal Edition

When in Montreal, eat like a local and no one knows where to eat better than our very own Tory Morton. Tory took us on a food crawl through the city, hitting up some of her all-time favourite spots for a day full of flavour, carbs, and local gems. If you're planning a trip or just hungry for a foodie day out, here’s where to go.

Stop 1: Pizza Toni

We kicked things off at Pizza Toni, a no-frills slice shop that’s all about bold flavour, crispy crusts, and serious attitude. Tory went classic with a pepperoni slice, and it hit all the right notes - chewy, salty, and just the right amount of grease. Whereas I went for their vodka slice that was flavourful and had a bit of a kick. It’s a must visit if you want New York-style pizza with a Montreal edge.

Stop 2: St.Viateur Bagel

No trip to Montreal is complete without a stop at St-Viateur Bagel. We picked up a couple to go: the Maple, Cinnamon and Apple bagel. Slightly sweet, chewy, and fresh out of the wood-fired oven, these bagels are next-level. Pro tip: they’re even better with a schmear and eaten while walking through Mile End.

Stop 3: Dalmata

Next up: Dalmata, the perfect pit stop for a mid-day treat. We grabbed two flavours: Fraise Chocolate Twist and Abricot Huactay Fior Di Latte Twist. They were rich, tangy, and ultra-creamy. It’s the kind of ice cream you think about long after it’s gone. Bonus: the vibe here is as sweet as the scoops.

Stop 4: San Gennaro

To wind things down, Tory took us to San Gennaro, a cozy café that doubles as a neighbourhood hangout. We wrapped the crawl with a cappuccino and a cold beer (because balance). Whether you're catching up with friends or just people-watching, it’s the perfect place to pause and savour the day.

Montreal is full of incredible eats, but sometimes the best way to experience it is to follow someone who knows where to go. Tory Morton’s food crawl gave us a taste of the city’s heart and a reason to come back hungry. Bookmark this list for your next trip, and come hungry.
